I have a project in mind using fruit rollups but I need two full 12x12 sheets so I had to make my own. This first batch came out too thin to cut for my project (but not to thin to enjoy eating :) So I have another batch going. But this is how homemade rollups look.
Sorry about all the pictures coming up first. I still am trying to figure this blog stuff out.
Anywho: The picture after the fruit rollup shows the gingerbread rolled out on the cake mat. I used the box mix and followed the directions for cut out cookies (it works like a charm), after rolling out the dough I placed in the freezer for 10 minutes and then cut. Once all the excess was removed, I left the cuts on the mat and placed back in the freezer for 5 minutes, I used a large metal spatula coated with flour to remove the cuts with ease.
Baked according to directions on the box. I used some royal icing to assemble. You have to get creative here and use what is handy to hold together while the icing hardens. I used a combination of pill bottles and little boxes of rasins.
The last picture is of my edible glass that I will use on the crown for some major bling effect.
Hopefully if life does not get in the way again today, I will have these finished tonight and be able to post completed photos. And answer any questions if you have them.
Thanks
Dawn
